Alec’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation.
After graduating from Brigham Young University (BYU) Law School, Alec promptly joined Larson as an associate. In law school, he actively engaged in numerous trial advocacy and moot court competitions, succeeding as a semi-finalist in the highly competitive Linda J. Anderson Trial Advocacy Competition. He also participated in an appellate clinic working on briefs dealing with First Amendment issues in courts of last resort. Alec was also selected as one of fifteen law students to participate in the prestigious J. Reuben Clark Law Society Religious Liberty Fellowship in Washington, D.C., which provided him the opportunity to learn from Federal judges and policymakers on how to effectively advocate for religious liberty. Additionally, he served as lead editor of BYU’s distinguished Journal of Public Law.
Throughout his law school summers, Alec was involved in a range of extracurricular experiences. He interned for Judge Kent Holmberg from the Third District Court of Utah, gaining invaluable insights into the workings of the judicial system. Additionally, he worked for a law firm handling insurance litigation matters where he worked to encourage the Utah state legislature to prohibit hourly hotel rentals to prevent human trafficking.
Alec has a passion for collaboration and teamwork as he recognizes how it provides learning opportunities both professionally and personally. He strives to understand the needs of his clients and offer tailored solutions, defining his approach to exceptional client service. Drawing on his fluency in Spanish, he seeks to bridge communication gaps and build lasting relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds. While obtaining his bachelor’s degree at Westminster College, he played for an NCAA Division II basketball team and acted as captain. Outside of work, Alec loves to spend time with his wife and son, explore new places, and play basketball.
