Partner Kori Bell is presenting at the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) 2022 West Coast White Collar Conference on June 16 in San Diego.
The 12th Annual West Coast White Collar Conference focuses on hot topics in white collar defense, presented by faculty from law firms across the country. Kori is speaking on a panel about “Enforcement Hot Topics: COVID Fraud, Government Contracting Fraud, and More,” which will touch upon the government’s aggressive prosecution in and implications of the “Varsity Blues” college admissions case. Her esteemed panelists include Ben Au of Orrick; Rasha Gerges Shields of Jones Day; Michael Heiskell of Johnson, Vaughn & Heiskell; and Amy Craig of Ramsey-Ehrlich.
Other topics throughout the two-day conference include “Convincing the Jury: Voir Dire, Focus Groups, Questionnaires, and Other Tools,” “Avoiding the Clink: Ethical Pitfalls and Precautions for Defense Counsel,” and “Carry the One: Examining and Cross-Examining Financial Experts.” Attendees will also hear from three district court judges in “The Judges Speak: Judges on Sentencing.”
