San Bernardino County (“County”) will pay a $65 million settlement to end the federal court suit alleging the retaliatory investigation and malicious prosecution of Jeffrey Burum, Law360 reported following the joint statement released by the County and Mr. Burum’s attorney, partner Stephen G. Larson.
Law360 explained the history of the case, noting that the settlement is “the most recent chapter of a long-running dispute stretching back nearly two decades and involving a layer cake of lawsuits.”
